Bodybuilding Program | Attitudes for Success

Inspiration Hardens to Motivation by Scott Jameson

"Many people have the will to win,
Few people have the will to prepare to win"

Bodybuilding success is about preparation. Are your training sessions great or are you just going through the motions Do you get the pump, sweat your butt off and walk away with an endorphin high? If you ever fit in the first category, this article is for you. Don’t waste any more time….read on and start building more muscle than you every thought.

Let me start with my example. Abs, for me, are hard to get. They take a lot of work and I still finished with them yet. So how do I push them to the limit…to get one more rep, to choose on more set and yes even add an extra exercise? How do I demand my Abs to improve…to give them no choice but shape and separate into distinctive rows of muscle?

INSPIRATION

Inspiration-That which can be taken from outside of you and placed internally to drive you to the next level. Ever hear someone say, “I see what I want and go after it”. Ditto. I see in my mind what I want to look like and go after it.

I recall in my mind pictures of great bodybuilders that have achieved great Abs and move myself to achieve results right now in heat training. I am not thinking about what I am going to do when my workout is done. I am not thinking about cutie Susie over the corner and how she looks. I am using my mind to prepare my body to accept one more rep, set and exercise. I was inspired but now I am motivated. I finish fired up and strong. Sweat is starting to harden to muscle. T shirts are wrung out with sweat.

FEELING THE MUSCLE

Besides finding one more rep, set or exercise, I feel the muscle. It is as if my brain is focused on sending only one signal and asking for only one response. Move, pull, contract…you will do as ordered and enjoy it. Sounds strange? The muscle hurts and at the same time feels incredibly on fire to grow with each movement. Progress is being made. I will change my Abs.

GETTING PREPARED

This is what I do for every great workout. The times that I loose my focus, my workout goes to crap. Bodybuilding is so mental and yet many stereotype the sport as dumb jocks. Nothing is further from the truth. Concentration must be high to make the muscular gains that you need to succeed.

inspiration paying off

Greatness inspires. Who do find that creates the mental image that you want for yourself. You can find inspiration in those better than you at the gym, at the contest or in picture. Magazines are famous for parading the professional bodybuilder on the pages monthly. But for myself I find they are no longer aesthetic, balanced and most importantly a realistic as goal for me. Frankly I find the professionals so overloaded with their “roid guts” that they fail to inspire me at all. Many looked better in their pre professional years.

I find more reachable inspiration from novice bodybuilders that often double as a fitness models. I also am inspired many of national level amateurs. These inspire to aspire. My workouts are 95% dynamite!

BOTTOM LINE- DO YOU HAVE THE WILL TO PREPARE TO WIN?

Get your mind prepared prior to the workout. Inspiring images can be a part of your mental preparation. And your inspired training will be the ultimate preparation for that moment you stand on stage and your physique inspires the judge to say "first place winner is"........
