It was great night at the Embassy Theater in Fort Wayne. About 40 men competitors in both Novice and Open divisions competed in this national qualifying event. For those that remember Indiana’s own Dan Decker took first in his class in 2004 and will be a serious contender at the NPC USA in Las Vegas later this summer. So this is an important event for those in the Open Division to qualify to the next national level.

One “wow” for last night was 13 year Christopher Jackson. While Chris did not win his teen division, he was well developed, cut and moving in on the size. If he persists, no doubt he will eventually win the teen division and doubt he will have to wait till he is 19 to do it. Chris is an example of what early interest in bodybuilding can do and I hope others will
be inspired by Chris' commitment.

Very honestly the judges had an easy time in the Novice divsion as the clear winner was readily spotted in each weight class. It was even clear who was the overall winner. I was a bit disappointed in the heavy weight class as no one competitor seemed to be a their peak definition. It was clear to me that Aaron Crook and Bachir Aboujoude were best prepared. Bachir incredible Abs, symmetry and proportion made him the standout. Also being the heavier competitor, it is tougher for lighter class Aaron Crook to upset even if he could have matched Bachir. Nonetheless, Aaron had a great physique and was by no means upstaged by Bachir. It was competition to the end. Congrats to both.
Winners in the Novice Competion for last night were:
- Bantam Weight- Michael Chavez
- Light Weight- Aaron Crook
- Middle Weight- Bachir Aboujaoude
- Heavy Weight-Dustin Arbuckle
- Overall Novice Winner- Bachir Aboujaoude

Most of the Novice competitors also participated in the Open Championship as well. The Middle Weight competition was where the real action was. Craig Hall, Pat Parson, Shannon Moore and Franco Datillo were clear winners in their weight class.
The Middle Weight was a shoot out between Mark Harris and again Bachir Aboujaoude. It was too close to call, but money was on Bachir. He seemed more ripped than Mark. The only flaw that I saw from my angle was that Bachir may need a little more back work. In the end, Mark won the weight class. Ed Sanders, head judge, indicated this one was very very close. You be the judge on the pictures below.
Winners in the Open Competition were:
- Light Weight- Craig Hall
- Middle Weight- Mark Harris
- Light Heavy Weight- Pat Parsons
- Heavy Weight- Shannon Monroe
- Super Heavy Weight- Franco Datillo
- Overall Winner- Franco Datillo
